Starting it Off Right!! Protective Style Challenge

Well, let's start it off right shall we!! Yanni and I deciede to enter in a 30 Day Protective Style Challenge, hosted by the lovely Miss A and her mom Nikki at beadsbraidsbeyond.blogspot.com (LOVE THAT SITE! Advid follower for YEARS!) Because we were pressed on time (New job, new hours, enough said!) We decided to do something quick and easy. Resulting in the style Cornrows, with a twisted Ponytail!

Now it has been some time, since I had gotten into braiding again. I was pregnant last year and let's just say, Yanni's hair was NOT the best at that time! (Whoo Lawd!) but I digress...and we're making our way back to completely healthy head full of CURLS!

So...like I said because we were pressed time, so I had to make this week a snappy quick one! LOL I parted in 6 sections, and used our Detangling/Pre Poo spray, which is Water, Coconut Oil, Organic Stimulator Olive Oil Deep Conditioner, and African Pride Olive Oil. Twisted each section after I sprayed it, then had it sit on her hair, while she went and took a bath. Then rinsed it out, and shampooed with Garnier Fructis Pure Clean shampoo (LOVE IT!), and then did an Apple Vinegar Rinse.

Now that Apple Vinegar Rinse. As horrible as it smells...does WONDERFUL for her hair. Leaves it clean and shiny, and so much softer!! And it's just regular Apple Cider Vinegar in the grocery store! Soooooo excellent!

Anyway! LOL I then conditioned with Aussie Moist, and we got ta styling!

I parted her hair in half, and moisturized using coconut oil, and Shea Moisture Curling Souflee. For a better hold, I used Curls Passion Fruit Control Paste. I started parting, and did simple cornrows, leading into a ponytail, and after using an Goody Ouchless Hair bow, I twisted the remaining hair down, adding alittle bit more coconut oil on the ends.

I usually band, her hair, and braid dry, because it just does sooo much better, and turns out neater, but I wanted to get the style in for the challenge. So, I plan on making some bows for her to wear throughout the week, in her hair, and switching the style up, until her wash day on Monday, where we'll try something different!
